Meet Eric Scheeman, LMFT

Therapy that feels real, not clinical, not awkward, just honest.

Therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interview, not a diagnosis, and definitely not a lecture.

Most people don’t come to therapy because life is easy. You come because you’re exhausted from pretending you’re fine, because your thoughts won’t slow down, or because something in your life just isn’t working the way it used to.

Maybe you’re anxious, stuck, or trying to figure out who you are and what you want. Whatever it is, you don’t have to face it alone.

That’s where I come in.

Hey, I’m Eric Scheeman.

It’s good to meet you.

I work with adolescents (14+) and young adults who are trying to keep it together when life won’t stop throwing curveballs. Anxiety, change, pressure, all of it can make you feel like you’re falling behind while everyone else is doing just fine. You don’t need to have it all figured out to start therapy. You just need a place to be honest without feeling judged.

My approach is straightforward and honest. I use humor, compassion, and practical tools from EMDR, CBT, DBT, and client-centered therapy to help you understand what’s actually going on beneath the surface. I’m not the silent “mhmm” therapist or the one who hits you with clichés. We’ll talk like real people, and you’ll walk away with something that actually makes sense for your life.

If therapy has ever felt too clinical or too “out there,” this will feel different. It’s grounded. It’s honest. And yeah, we’ll probably laugh a little along the way. Because when you feel understood, you finally have space to move forward.

I don’t believe in surface-level fixes or quick solutions.

Maybe you’re anxious, stuck, or trying to figure out who you are and what you want. Whatever it is, you don’t have to face it alone.

That’s where I come in.

Qualifications

EMDR

A trauma-processing method that helps your brain file overwhelming memories so they stop hijacking your mood, reactions, or sense of safety. No reliving everything. Just gentle, guided processing that takes the sting out of old pain.

CBT

A practical approach that helps you notice the thoughts that fuel anxiety, self-doubt, or spirals. Then we replace the unhelpful ones with patterns that support confidence, calm, and clarity.

DBT

Tools for handling big emotions without shutting down or blowing up. You’ll learn skills to stay grounded, communicate clearly, and navigate stress without losing yourself.

Client-Centered Therapy

You set the pace, and your perspective matters most. I follow your lead, listen deeply, and help you uncover what you actually think, feel, and need — no pressure, no lectures.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

What Matters Most in My Work:

Honesty

I believe healing starts with truth. I show up with transparency, direct communication, and a commitment to helping you see your experiences clearly without judgment.

Authenticity

You get the real me - grounded, human, and present. I encourage you to bring your full, unfiltered self, because real change happens when we’re not performing.

I’ve been through my own share of challenges, and I know how heavy life can get. That’s why my work focuses on helping people move from surviving to actually living again.
